SOLAR CHARKHA MISSION Project
To promote employment among poverty-struck people living in rural and semi-urban areas of India, came up with a unique model through Khadi Solar Charkha project.
With the idea of promoting rural employment among poor women and strengthening themselves on social and economic fronts, BHKGS decided to work on Khadi; the first project being in Khanwan, Nawada in Bihar. The field trials of solarized charkhas in Khanwan have been encouraging. According to the estimates of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises these charkhas have the potential to be a force multiplier for the economy.
This project is designed to provide looms/Charkha to the women of the region from which the craft known as Khadi can be modernized using modern technology. The looms/Charkha shall be placed in each of these homes and each loom/Charkha shall be powered by clean renewable energy products, installed by Sarang Services in many locations in India.
